WOODSTOCK, GA — Lithec, a global leader of inline color control and inspection systems for the graphic communications industry, will partner with Remote Director and feature Lithec LithoFlash at the annual conference of researchers and color experts of the graphic communications industry. Printing Industries of America and SGIA will host the Color20 event on January 11-14, 2020 in San Diego, CA. “The Color Conference has always drawn the top researchers and experts who help our industry deliver what appears to be the simple request of right color, every time,” states Dan Caldwell, President of Remote Director. “As printers in our industry know, that is easier said than done. We will be proud to partner with Lithec USA as we manage color expectations starting with remote color proofing and delivering it on press.”
“The term “closed-loop color” is a bit of a misnomer,” observes John Sweeney, VP of Sales, Lithec USA. “All commercial printers know that, in the best of situations, pressmen manually pull a press sheet and manually initiate a scan of the color bar at the press console. The promise of closed-loop color is delivered with inline color control, without press operator intervention. We are excited to introduce this technology to our colleagues at the Color20 event.” Lithec LithoFlash uses inline camera inspection, that eliminates the need to manually measure color bars at the press console. The color bar of each sheet is scanned automatically as the sheet is moving through the press, making ink key adjustments as the sheet leaves the last printing unit, running live. Lithec LithoFlash is available on new RMGT and Komori presses and is retrofittable on all press brands including Heidelberg, RMGT, Komori, KBA, manroland and Mitsubishi. In addition to inline color control, offline inspection systems are also available for all press manufacturers and models. Lithec inspection tables can work with up to 4 presses at the same time. Lithec in-line and off-line color control and inspection systems are installed in more than 1,500 printing plants around the world. Benefits reported by commercial printers, packaging printers and converters are reduced make-ready time, reducing expenses by lowering wasted substrate, and maintaining production quality throughout the press run.
“We are proud to enable a growing trend among commercial printers to move short-run jobs from digital back to offset presses,” states John Sweeney, VP of Sales, Lithec USA. “Inline color control, the ability to read a color bar live during the press run, is another technology that shifts the digital to offset crossover point in favor of offset.” Lithec USA is the authorized master distributor of Lithec solutions in all of the Americas, based in Woodstock, GA. Lithec USA will parter with Remote Director at the Color20 Conference celebrated at the Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa on January 11-14, 2020 in San Diego, CA.
