INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Litho Press Inc. began in 1953 as a commercial printer, producing brochures and catalogs for customers throughout the Midwest. In the 1990s, the company shifted its focus to the rapidly expanding packaging market, a strategic transition that continues to drive its growth today. Throughout that evolution, one constant has remained: a commitment to delivering the highest possible print quality.
That commitment led Litho Press to install Lithec’s LithoFlash® inline color control system on two of its sheetfed offset presses in 2019. Since then, LithoFlash has become a core part of their production strategy, helping the team achieve tighter color control, faster makereadies, and greater overall efficiency.
After implementation, makeready sheets dropped from more than 600 to as few as 200, depending on the job. At the same time, automated inline measurement and ink-key adjustments helped stabilize color across entire runs, allowing Litho Press to complete more jobs per day while maintaining consistently higher quality.
LithoFlash’s inline camera technology reads the color bar automatically and communicates adjustments directly to the press in real time. What was once a manual, multi-step process now happens autonomously, reducing variability and freeing operators to focus on production. Over the past five years, the system has proven reliable, intuitive, and integral to Litho Press’s high-quality packaging workflow.
Today, Litho Press continues to rely on LithoFlash as a key component in delivering brand-critical color accuracy and dependable performance for its packaging customers.
