Agenda for Print UV 2023 Announced

A New Generation of Sheetfed UV Embellishments

Print UV, the leading conference for UV printing, has announced the agenda for its upcoming conference, taking place from May 2-4, 2023 at the Encore at Wynn Las Vegas. This year’s conference will focus on a new generation of UV embellishments that can be performed in-line, including coatings, inks, and foils.

The conference features an impressive lineup of industry experts who will share their knowledge and expertise with attendees. This year’s agenda promises to be the most insightful yet, featuring in-depth presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities.

The Embellishments Session One will be moderated by Russ Foster, Senior Director of Global Manufacturing Operations at The Pokémon Company International, and Corey Lewis, Manager of Global Print Production at The Pokémon Company International. Attendees will discover the secrets behind creating mesmerizing metallic effects that captivate consumers. They will also learn how these embellishments harmonize with the need for speed and efficiency, and how an eco-friendly Met-Poly replacement process for Cold Foil is a cost-effective and environmentally responsible solution.

Session Two will delve into the art of using in-line coatings and inks to produce stunning effects like raised textures, strike-through, haptic sensations, and cutting-edge security features – unlocking hidden value in your existing equipment. Mastering these transformative techniques can add exceptional print value and set businesses apart from the competition.

The third session, The Art of Illumination, will explore the renaissance of cast coatings as we go deeper into the world of liquid lamination and cast & cure. Attendees will learn about the captivating realm of striking “light-capture images” and the wonders of full-blown liquid lamination. The session will unveil the secrets to achieving unparalleled results while reducing costs, transforming this art into a dazzling display of brilliance.

“We are thrilled to have these sessions focused on the latest developments in UV embellishments at Print UV 2023, moderated by none other than Pokémon International, one of the companies driving the latest round of innovation,” said conference organizer, Hans Ulland. “Attendees will learn from the experts about the newest techniques and technologies for creating stunning effects that captivate consumers and set their businesses apart.”
Print UV 2023 is expected to draw a diverse crowd of professionals from across the printing industry, including commercial printers, packaging printers, and specialty printers. With a focus on the latest trends and technologies, the conference promises to be an exciting and informative event.

In addition to the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with exhibitors and sponsors, including leading companies in the printing industry. They will also have the chance to network with other professionals in the field, sharing knowledge and ideas with peers.

“We believe this year’s conference will be one of the most important gatherings for professionals in the printing industry, as we address the latest developments and trends in UV printing technology,” said Ulland.

LithoFlash has the ability to read a color bar live during the press run

“Having had great success with packaging converters in reducing makeready and maintaining color critical work consistent throughout the run, we are thrilled to show how these same economies are enjoyed in the commercial print market,” states Clyde Tillman, President, Lithec USA. “In-line color control, the ability to read a color bar live during the press run without pulling a press sheet has shown a consistent savings of six pallets of paper every month in a commercial shop. That number goes up to 20 pallets in packaging accounts.

Lithec LithoFlash eliminates the need to manually measure color bars at the press console by reading the color bar and making ink key adjustments as the sheet leaves the last printing unit, running live. Lithec LithoFlash is available on new RMGT and Komori presses and is retrofittable on all press brands including Heidelberg, RMGT, Komori, KBA, manroland and Mitsubishi. Our offline inspection system is also available for all press manufacturers and models. Our inspection tables can work with up to 4 presses at the same time.

Lithec systems are installed in Heidelberg, KBA, Komori, Manroland, and RMGT offset presses and used in more than 1,500 commercial, packaging, web and metal print plants around the world. Benefits reported by commercial printers, packaging printers and converters are reduced make-ready time, reducing expenses by lowering wasted substrate, and maintaining production quality throughout the press run.
